PS3 News \ Firmware 2.00 News!

Firmware 3.72 was released yesterday for the PSP and at first just seemed like another pointless update but now according to uk.playstion.com 3.72 adds RemoteStart.

RemoteStart will make it possible for you to turn on and off your PS3 via RemotePlay from your PSP. Although not possible yet as RemoteStart needs Firmware 2.00 on the PS3 for it to work but shows that 2.00 is coming and maybe soon!

The details on Firmware 3.72 for the PSP...

*Support for PLAYSTATION®Network titles has been expanded.

*Support has been added for [Remote Start]* of the PS3 system under [Remote Play].

*To use this feature, the PS3 system software must be version 2.00 or later. For detailed information about [Remote Start], visit the PS3 Help & Support section at eu.playstation.com and select Connecting to other devices in the General Guides area. uk.playstation.com/

Thanks billz1508 I thought it was Rachet&Clank. I did read that Rachet&Clank will have some sort of RemotePlay conectivity with Agent Clank a PSP title coming soon. I wonder how many other games will use RemotePlay? GT5 was another one actually... Maybe a rear veiw mirror? The most recent one I read for GT5 RemotePlay was that you would be able to use your PSP as a Pit Manager.
Anyway give me 2.00!

Well RemoteStarts better than leaveing it in RemotePlay switched on. I think 1.94 is already out but is just for rumble on a game or 2 as the new controlers out this month or next in Japan. That shouldn't stop them bringing out 2.00 though.

Nah you'll also be able to turn your PS3 on/off from wireless hotspots. Like say I'm round my mates & he has wireless internet I could turn on my PS3 from my PSP then start watching videos, listen to music and play games like LAIR which is compatible with remote play. I'm sure there will be other new features in 2.00 but nothing else has been confirmed. I want 2.00 to come out now! lol....

mind you - if you wanted to record something with playtv and your at a wirless hot spot - and your ps3 is at home (wait for it) turned off - then you could use the remote thingy, yah!!!
