Well yes and no. Half life is a PC game. and the 360 runs mostly the same direct X API's that windows uses. So it was easier for Valve to port it over to the 360.

The PS3 is based on the open GL API's. Also the ps3 has less ram and a worse graphics card than the 360. so if you want to take advantage of the system you have to have as many things as you can running off the cell rather than the graphics card it self.

So that’s a short ish reason why the ps3 version is the worst of the 3. that doesn’t stop the orange box from being the best game of the whole year.

Hey guys my Fiancee brought me this for Xmas (Orange Box) and im loving it. Altho i have already finished HL2 on my PC some years ago i am enjoying replaying it on my PS3. Yeh the graphics arnt as shiny as they were on the PC version but i still end up sitting on the edge of my seat while playing, I also find that the game environment is the best by far, the music and sounds really can get ya heart going. Its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, I highly suggest you go hire it or buy it.. The single player area (HL2) is by far an excellent game. You have to solve puzzles in this using physics ie: Cant reach a ledge? Place some bricks on the sea-saw to weigh one end down.

Also the digitization of characters is by far the best ive seen in any game, they move in a way that it too human. I have felt nausus a few times playing this with the blood effects and just how engrossing the game can be.

That being said the reason i wanted it was for TF2, and this coming thursday night im going to run a TF2 round for AUSSIES. So if you are keen for a NO LAG game with fun light hearted game play and some good laughs I urge you to join me on thursday night at 8,30PM queensland time. I have setup a match roster at my site, ozps3party.com which im sure some of you are already aware of.

Yeah, that, TF2 and Portal are all too good to pass up for $60! I wanted to play an FPS with *STORY* and I finished all the others

*edit* and I was waiting for a good collection to hit the shelves (I own the platinum collection for HL and haven't played HL2 yet...). So depending on how it goes, I might end up keeping this one

if you enjoyed HL 1 then you will love HL 2. plus you get eppisodes 1 and 2

Yeah! Just got it! Unfortunately the shop that has it for $60 was closed, so picked it up for $85 and am happy to report the aussie version works fine on an NTSC console... a "bit" laggy in TF2 though...

I'm keen, but not till 7th of March... I'll up my speed to 512 (change of plan)... at the moment its so laggy its unplayable... (I keep jigging when I try to move, and then warp 10ft in that general direction)...

Yeah I'll be keen, it looks like I'll be keeping this collection...

128k adsl is fine... you must be on US servers is ya problem. I had that, hence why i hosts games for aussies.

I'm on 256 atm... it works beautifully with Home & Burnout (even wth voice chat in both). UT3 and TF2 are a bit laggy, would love to play in some aussie servers, so I'll be up for shure!

its not your connection its just TF2 on the PS3, its mostly unplayable. plus there just isnt enough players. On the PC though there is are tonnes of deicated 24 player servers(ps3 and 360 can only have 16 players) and they have no lagg

Well as NoRC said, I was playing on US Servers, ut3 is also fairly laggy on US servers, but playable... TF2 isn't... I'll try once I up my speed or NoRC hosts... still gots to play through HL2+Ep1+Ep2+Portal, so I'm a happy boy!

I have never had a lag issue with TF2 on the PS3... neither has anyone connected to my server.

The issue is SOLEY that your playin the game on US servers nothing more... TF2 is suprising awesome fun and no fps issues once playing with aussie players just like COD4... altho COD4 handles its lag in a different way in that the players skip around the field where as TF2 and im guessin UT3 experiences entire game slow downs when laggy players are present.

I HIGHLY suggest you connect to one of my TF2 sessions, you'll be more than pleasently suprised at how well this game runs on the PS3.

I would but i don’t own it on PS3, I only hired the OB out on ps3 just to give it a try. Plus its not just lag, its just better with 24 people on the PC.
