someone invited me to play a league game today, and just as i went to accept they cancelled it, then when i invited them they were busy.. frustrating!

help please from you veterans - how come when im defending, people can just can just stroll up with the ball past me as if im not doing anything, but when i try to do the same thing i get stripped of the ball the second i come within 1m of the defender??
