week after COD4 came out i brought a 2nd ps3, AU40gb + COD4 for $640 @ EB

i have the 40 gig with an extra control, ratcht and clank. paid $300 with a 2 year warranty. So if it stuffs up I can bring it straight into "GAME" and they will give me a brand new one. No sending it away to Sony and paying for them to fix it.

I had to trade in my ps2 and 15 games though.

I got my second solely for playing imported Region A (locked) movies from the US. At the time was one of the cheapest Blu Ray Players out there. Probably still is actually.

If I had bought a dedicated blu ray player from the states I would have had to buy a step down converter. There is no need to buy a power converter for the PS3 as the power supply is multivoltage. You simply change the kettle plug to an Australian one.

I got my PS3 just after launch in early April. Ended up getting it for $900 with $100 shaved off at Sony-Style as a coupon offer. Which was great... only thing though is i was one of the first 20,000 in the country to sign up to PSN - and they said that they were sending out a copy of Casino Royale but i never received it. After talking to them basically Sony said to-bad so-sad
