I find it funny that people get so personal and say stuff like, "Suck it 360 OWNERS! PS3 rules!"

Personally, I rekon the next XBOX will be MS's last gaming home console if it goes the same way as the 360. In saying that, the 360 has done well, just not as well as the competition. It hasn't done as bad as say, the GC or DC did.

I own both the 360 and PS3.. and the PS3 is by far the superior.. its got better games IMO and its just the complete package. I wouldnt even look twice at a 360 if it didnt have Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Condemned, Saints Row or BioShock.
And its true; people are getting pissed with the 360. I've already had about 6-7 people in the past 4 or so months come in and say that they've had enough for the 360 and the RRoD problem, and have decided to go for a PS3.. 1 has gone for the Wii, but you get the point. People are getting annoyed and its only a matter of time before retailers call it a day with all the defective hardware flying out the door and coming back 3 months later. It costs THEM.

Having an Xbox 360 makes you a nerd?..Clearly I need to brush up on my popular culture and social dynamics.
But honestly I'm sick of fanboys and their overtly biased and dogmatic opinions. Each console has their own distinct pros and cons and therefore none is better than the other and essentially it really just comes down to the user’s preference as to which he/she plays or prefers.

Yeah, but getting back to the original retailer complaints, the 360 is just an embarassment. Even if the failure rate was a really low 10% it is pathetic. I mean retailers wouldn't stock other electronic consumer goods with that sort of failure rate. They'd drop them. But for some reason they keep getting forced to sell the 360. A retailer wants to sell an item and that is it. They don't want to see it again.

It was stupid from the start. The retailer was probably some dumb, EB Games employee. Games like Fable 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Gears of War 2, GTA IV all have the potential to maintain the 360s current success. And yes, the 360, sales wise, up this point has been a success.

Yeah it does cost them. The RROD will ultimately be the death of the console. It has nothing to do with the quality and quantity of games available.

If you look at the Australian console sales for the past month, ps3 and the 360 are neck and neck; the article is baseless.

Well went and grabbed lunch with a mate just before and seeing 2 360's with RROD at 2 different stores was pretty funny regarding the topics title. If retailers are going to have a RROD 360's for display seems like they don't care... Or are they scared if they replace it the replacement will have the case of RROD as well? Other stores I went to had a PS3 on display had GT5 prologue up and running

I'm sorry to sound like I'm harping but the failure rate on ANY other appliance or car or powertool or toy or whatever would not be tolerated. The manufacturer would be shamed into doing a recall and the retailers would stop selling them. Why is the XBox excused? It is an utter joke, and I can see where the story is coming from. If it wasn't for microsoft, they'd have been dumped.

What a load of crap. I have had a 360 from release date and sold it to my mate's son about 8 months ago as i bought a halo 360 as i wanted HDMI and both consoles have been running fine without a single problem. I must be lucky as out of 2 360's i have never had a single problem with both of them. Microsoft will fix any problem 360's and i do not believe that the failure rate is that high as to have retails stop selling them

16% failure rate is a fare amount. It probably equates to maybe 2 or 3 consoles per retailer.

Also just because you had 2 consoles and neither of them died doesn't prove anything. In fact you would've been unlucky to get a faulty one since the chances of you getting one or two faulty ones from two purchases is still about 30%. And something to think about is that the earliest model was the worst, reaching around 33% failure by some accounts. Multiply that by how many were sold around release time and I bet the retailers were already getting pissed as one by one, 1/3 of their sales came back. Sure they've reduced it, but 1/6 or so are still having problems, and a lot of people would still be going back to the shop to give them a piece of their mind. I've got nothing against the 360, but I can understand why some retailers would
