I didnt really believe it when I read here that people couldnt find a store with a PS3 in stock but then the other day this guy came into work & he was telling me how his son had been saving up for a PS3 & he gave him the rest he needed for his birthday, they went to 12 different shops in our area & they were all out of stock. Now the kid has to wait until they come back into stock, ruined his birthday he said but at least his gonna get one soon.

The reason I was told was because of the previous package deals by Sony & One of the mobile phone companies.
The deals were you got a free PS3 if you bought a Sony Bravia TV or for the Phone Companies if you joined a certain phone plan.
Apparently so many people took up the offers that Sony can't keep up with the demand for units.
From what I've heard some people who bought Bravias 5 months ago are still waiting for their PS3's. Same with the phone companies.
Only so many PS3 come into the country at one time and their always nearly allocated before they hit the stores.
As a result supplies are limited to the stores and they aren't get the numbers they want. They have to honor all the existing/ waiting customers first.
In short if you want a new PS3 in Melbourne you have to Pre-order it.

Oh man. I can't wait that long. I really want a PS3 but that's just way to pricey. They aren't doing the GTA4 bundle packs anymore, they're doing MGS bundle pack. I'd rather have GTA4 .
