Oh wicked, I just upgraded to Firefox 3 ... and most of my add-ons are still compatible (some needed upgrades).

Google Gears is an add-on that lets online web apps (such as Google Reader, Google Docs, Remember The Milk etc) store data offline. I use a lot of web apps, because I use several computers, and my iPod Touch & PSP to access the data, Google Gears just means that if my broadband connection goes down, I can still work on my Google Docs, and when the connection comes back, it automatically syncs with online.
I use Google Mail, Docs & Calendar on a daily basis, and Remember The Milk for tasks (which integrates into gmail & gcal really well. Evernote is another app (not a Google Gears one) that is fantastic too.

I know that FF is fully standards compatible. Coding for IE used to be a major no-no for us because if it worked in that, it wasn't necessarily going to work anywhere else. More so because we all use Macs, and if it worked in IE on the Mac, it didn't guarantee it was going to work on Windows.
Safari is also fully standards-compliant, so get it working in there, and you're pretty much guaranteed it'll work in FF too. I believe IE is better with the standards now too.
As someone who had run a web-dev company for 10 years (and still maintain a few of the larger clients) i HATE it when companies develop for "Windows IE" only.

Currently Using FireFox 2, probably will upgrade to FF3 soon and after using it for a while I wouldn't use anything else now.

I use Mozilla. It is more stable than IE and a bit faster. Plus is easier to use and i am used to it now.

Firefox all the way. Less susceptible to spyware and find it faster than the IE.
Plus I get a kick out of not supporting Microsoft every step of the way. Especially in products such as IE where have have taken less than honorable steps in the past to monopolise the browser market.

For Mozilla, you click Help > About Mozilla Firefox and your version number should be there. Mine is 2.0.0.14.

firefox, version 3.0 beta.
Changed over to firefox from IE since it was faster, was actually a noticeable difference in speed but now does i got ADSL2+ and it doesn't matter which one i use.

I don't use themes, but I can tell you what add-ons I use:
I love my football, so I always have FootieFox installed.
I also have Gmail Manager, IE Tab, Adblock Plus, Adblock Filterset.G Updater, DownloadThemAll, Fission, Update Notifier, PDF Download.
I also have Net Usage Item. It's for us Australians on internet plans with quotas (tracks your download usage).
