Social \ 2009....Year of the PS3...maybe!?

BUT, I don't think that's all true...well, not completely. I believe it mainly relates to PS3's Sony (1st party) games and exclusives! I feel this way partly because it is mostly (90%) the exclusive games that have 'real' quality in the games we're playing this year!

Don't get me wrong, there have been great titles released this year (eg. GTA4). But what I'm referring to is actual quality of the games; graphically, smoothness in frame-rates and all other aspects that can compare MGS4.

Sony's 1st party developers and exclusives have taken more time to get to know the 'true power' of the PS3, and that's why we've seen great looking titles from them (eg. MGS4, GT5:P).

So to me, it's more like late 2009 will be PS3's year....over all!!! The majority of 3rd party developers seem like they still need more time to understand Sony's PS3...and that takes time...a lot of time! (FYI, MGS4 took 4 years develop and Kojima was given a development kit much earlier than any other 3rd party developers!)

Personally, I think this was an excellent year for the PS3. We came back hard. We've outsold 360 the majority of the year. Albeit the fact that MS is ahead in consoles sales....things can only get better. Some people have claimed that this year is one of the biggest gaming years in history, having some of the most amazing smash hit titles. I think next year will upstage this one. Only good things to come, and more room for the PS3 to grow, expand and innovate.


We all know the Wii is 'winning', but I personally wouldn't compare it to the 360 / PS3. Just not in the same league.


It's like comparing apples and oranges...then saying "they're both fruit though!". Entirely different.

As this year there are just so many good games coming (or have already come) out on the system its not funny. But not a lot of them are exclusive.

Next year will be the one where a lot of huge exclusives hit. Like Killzone 2, Infamous, God of war 3, White knight chronicles, Heavy Rain, plus a bunch of others that haven’t been announced

Almost all of the major 3rd party games to come out this year will be/have been exactly the same on both 360 and PS3. Just because its not an exclusive doesn’t mean they aren’t still good games.

Sorry, not to be rude. Bioshock means nothing. FFXIII is as big as MGS4, if not, a bigger system seller than MGS4. So it is a major blow. But being the awesome PS3 owners we are... we shall have a slice of humble pie and move on.

I didn't mean to refer to Bioshock as insignificant, but the FF series is a system seller, period.
