I got my 3yr extended warranty (over the standard 12mnth warranty) at Harvey Norman 0 cost me $80 from memory... it was painfull at the time to do it but i'm glad i did - its only $40 or so per year for those two extra yrs for peace of mind

Dont think Sony offer an extended warranty - check on MySony ebsite for that Question I guess.

I wouldn't buy an overseas model on ebay for warranty reasons alone, fullstop.

Sony PlayStation doesn't arrange extended warranty directly. The only option in relation to getting an extended warranty is directly through the retail stores. If the direct store doesn't arrange an extended warranty, you may be able to contact the department store head office to ask if an extended warranty is possible. Sony PlayStation covers the product warranty for a 12 month period & after that time if extended warranty is available, it will be covered by the retail stores.
