I've got ZoneAlarm, and in my opinion it's pretty good. I haven't had any trouble, and it's easy to use.

I wouldn't waste time with the Windows Firewall. Just replace it.

that's true, but it also misses alot of things, the antivirus system is terrible it can't detect anything, and its so bloated it uses most of your system resources while doing a worse job than freeware.
