Playstation 3 Software & Firmware \ Losing files on backup! - Locked

the updates are installed onto the system so it doesn't matter if u format ur HDD or change it, whatever latest updates u installed it will stay within the PS3 (hope that made sense =S)

- Game Data, Game Saves
- Any downloads will need to be re-downloaded.

You will not need to download/re-setup:

- Your FW (It's backed up on the ps3 itself).
- Your System Settings are fine.
- Your Purchases are fine as they are stored online.
- Your stats for CoD4 and Battlefield (or similar online games) should be fine as they are also server-side.
- Your Folding@home stats will be reset on the PS3, but not online.

I think that's everything I can think of...
