E3 2009: Sony reveals new Motion Controller
During their E3 2009 keynote speech, Sony showed off their newest PS3 feature - the Motion Controller.
While the controller on show was an early prototype, with the finalised hardware expected to be substantially different, it looked as though it performs in very much the same way as the Wii-mote.
Dr. Richard Marx, creator of the EyeToy, demoed the controller on stage, showing off its real-time movement and how precise it is with the gamers swings.
Several different forms of motion were shown, including shooting a gun, throwing darts, stabbing a dummy and hitting a tennis ball.
The device is still an early prototype and no confirmed release was announced, although it is expected to be released sometime in 2010.
