New details on Afrika have emerged from SONY at one of their media events.
As most people already know, Afrika is a Safari themed game, with the gamer
playing as a photo journalist who is visiting Africa. When you start the game,
you get to choose whether your journalist is Male or Female. Your assignment
is to photograph and research the lifestyle and behaviour of animals. All
assignments will come to your base, via email. Once you recieve the assignment,
Al your tour guide will be waiting for you in the Jeep. This means you can't
hit the animals with your Jeep. But you can take photos from the Jeep, or
get close-up and personal with them.
Giraffes, Zebras, Gazelles are all expected to look very life like, a bit like
watching the National Geographic Channel. Getting too close to these animals
may scare them or end up more violently.
Taking photos in this game, is very similar to in real-life. Players will be
able to adjust and set the focus and aperture. There will be many cameras that
you will be able to choose from. SIXASIS will be used to adjust camera angles.
When your photographer is done taking all the photos, the photos will be sent
back to the headquarters and rated on the clarity and also there rarity. Better
pictures will earn you more money, which can be used to buy better cameras.
