PS3 News \ Manchester United warm up for PES 2009

Konami has announced that it has reached agreement to feature Manchester United in its forthcoming PES 2009 title. The current English and European Champions will appear fully licensed in all versions of the eagerly-awaited football title, which will be released for Playstation 3, Playstation 2, PSP, XBOX 360 and PC-DVD later this year. A Wii version is scheduled for release in 2009.

This shortens the gap between FIFA from EA Sports and Pro Evolution, as FIFA has exclusively held the licenses to some of the worlds best soccer clubs for well over a decade. PES now joins that exclusive club with one of the greatest sporting clubs in the world joining its roster.

Oooh cool. As long as it's not the disgrace that it was last year I may consider the slight possibility of maybe thinking about the option of buying this game for the first time... In the past it's been the laughable lack of licensing that has been its biggest drawback in my opinion
