my friends work in games shop call TunzAgames in Shepparton, told me next year will be new hard drive 180GB, he told me maybe cost $200.00 or $300.00 he not now, so wait in time come but did told me will be 80GB hard drive this year, he said wait big one come out. 80GB hard drive will cost $140.00 or 190.00 ok.

well, i dont see the point of upgrading your hdd if you hardley use it. i will change mine maybe in a few years or so.

I agree skua, I still have heaps of hdd space left, and when I do upgrade it won't be any less then 250gb.

I wish you could just plug in an External Hard Drive and work in like an internal one. Be easier and you can get a bigger hard drive for a smaller price

So it takes only 2.5" HDD ey? I didnt expect that. I can get em cheap cos I work in a computer store. But eBay is still cheaper

Yeah, I love eBay. I get lots of stuff off there. I got The Darkness for $60 and Resistance and Motorstorm for $50 each also. And just today I won a brand new sixaxis controller for $35 including postage.

i recommend upgrading because i upgraded and now i got HEAPS of space but then again i dont put videos or stuff like that on my ps3 just stuff from the PSN and music so yeh and i dont think it has to be 5400 RPM's but yeh ur right it has to be SATA

I upgraded mine to a 160gig a while ago. I did not see this post so created another one 160gig sata 5400 for $145.00 at the swap meet on sunday. I have about 6gig of music video's and 4 gig of mp3's on it and still heaps of room. Just one question? has anyone found a way to tag more them one video at a time to copy to the ps3 as only can do it one at a time. Bloody sony again

I had the same crap yesterday. Like i put jpg files onto my memory stick,stuck it into ps3 and the ps3 said no supported files. So booted up my vista hards drive and shared folders and copied files from the vista media server. Surported video files are mpg and not mp4 files like some ps3video convertor say

I actually haven't tried putting anything on my ps3 yet as in music and video files from my PC! So it's not as simple as put it on a flash drive and should work? Is there a guide or something?
music is super simple you can just put it on any flash drive or memory stick and wack it in the ps3 and copy it to the hard drive. videos are a bit more complicated. the ps3 only plays MPEG4's in the AVC format or basic MPEG2's sp you will need to convert any vids that are on your pc first then just use a flash drive to copy them accross

are you just going to the memory stick icon under photo when you put your stick in and it says there is nothing. if so its because the ps3 needs you to put them in a special folder order but you can just go into your memory stick by pressing triangle and selecting view all and you can look at all the contents of the stick find files you want and copy them across.
also you need to be in the correct tab for the type of file you want to copy across or view IE if you want to view a image be in the photo tab and so on with music and videos
the ps3 plays mpeg2 and mpeg4 but only a few types. The file extension of the video(the .mpeg2 or 4 bit) only tells you what container it is using, not what codec the video inside that container is using. The ps3 only plays a few specific codecs so you will have to convert stuff first using www.pspvideo9.com/

Wait so liam have you put mp3's on the PS3 successfully man?
the easyest way to do mp3s would be to put them on a flash drive or memory stick in a folder called MP3 then just press triangle when the usb stick or memory stick is higlighted and then go view all and then press triagle over the folder you mp3s are in then hit copy then the ps3 will do the rest for you.

well it dosnt need to be called MP3 any folder will do but its better if you keep names of files to somthing that is meaningfull, iv goten that drumed into me so much at uni that i just do it by default now

I put some MP3's on there from my itunes folder and it says unsupported file on some. I can figure out why
