PS3 Online \ Help needed to start

CPR your easiest way to have both the PS3 and your PC running with the internet is to go out and buy a router, wired or wireless it doesnt matter.

If if you wish to do it the way you suggested, then yes just unplug the modem from your PC, connect up a cat5 cable from your modem to PS3 and away you go. Then just reverse it all when you want your PC online again.

EDIT: Yeah didnt realise, as melad pointed out, if you have both USB and ethernet jack's onh your modem, use them at the same time for both PC & PS3.

wep key is only wireless, CPR if ur modem/router has wireless capability u can connect wit dat but if ur modem doesnt u have to connect with ethernet cable, if ur modem has usb AND ethernet thant u can connect usb to computer and ethernet to ps3 it works fine

maybe try buying a wireless router it so easy and convinient mate........ and preety cheap too..... its just 80 bucks in dicksmith city or maybe in any dicksmith... anyway its a DLINK ROUTER

Theres only one problem, my ps3 is in another room to my pc, so i can usb my pc and ethernet my ps3? thats mad, does anybody know if any speedstream modems are wireless compatible? ive got a speedstream one that optus supplies you with when you get dsl..

mate wireless router will solve all ur problem i recomend buying one. ASAP....

I doubt it has wireless capabilities. Ofcourse, i dont know for sure, just seems unlikely to me.

Just do a google search on the exact modem they gave you, name, model # etc. you will be able to find out in no time.

Router plugs into PC, Modem and Ps3 plug into router.

I have optus also & the same modem , I have a DLINK wireless router & works a treat , have 2 PC's , my PS3 & PSP all connect without any hassles to the wireless router.
