There's a usb port on the psp right? why cant it connect to the 20gig model via usb. Other than downloading content to your psp which you dont need a ps3 to do any way whats the point? The 20 gig model seems more suited to people who want the ps3 for games, it is supposed to be a games console. All the extra's seem like fads to me, if you can afford a ps3 then you have access to a decent pc anyway right!
EDIT.... looks like cable connection is possible, has it been officially confirmed?

In regards to remote play and transferring files to the PSP from the PS3, you would find that it can only be done via Wi-Fi. No, the USB cable won't work for Remote Play (remeber how PSP goes into that USB Mode, well that's why)... I dunno if it will work for Transferring PS1 games from the store or not as I haven't bought any

Hounestly I really dont mind having a wire for downloading, it will probaly be quicker any way plus I'am going to have to use the wire anyway for the computer.

Remote Play wouldn't be possible through a cable, but downloading files from/to PSP/PS3 is possible via a cable, but I am unsure about PS1 games to PSP as have never bought any...
