I would suggest you go for a brand new slim PS2, because you never know what kind of problem the old PS2 may inherit. It is also a worthwhile investment because if you are going to get a PS3, you would have to use your PS2 in order to play PS2 games, since PS2 games cannot be played on a PS3.

I went down to my friendly neighborhood EB, and had a look at the ps2s there. $150 slim b/n, $120/$130 slim p/o, $90 orginal p/o. Is there any cheaper than $90 anywhere? cos i know that EB jack up the prices.
Also, about the Ethernet cable in slim, does that mean that the original can't play online? and can i play online with a wireless connection?
I also heard that the slim overheats easily. is that true?
