And we have a Winner!. SOF: Payback is now the worst game ever made. I managed to download a censorship-free version of the game (i wasn't gonna buy the censored version) and let me tell you all it's atrocious. It a blatant cash-in on the series popularity. The gore level barely exceeds the previous games. In fact the engine they use to process the dismemberment is identical to SOF2 with less detail and more blood. At least the first 2 made a half-assed attempt at a storyline. This one doesn't even have cutscenes or storyline whatsoever. You have only 1 option to change the graphics (resolution) and thats about it. You start the game, choose your primary/secondary weapons and sidearm, then you get thrust into a mission that makes no sense, has not build-up story. You are simply told by on-screen text to rescue some diplomat (you dont even know who your working for or anything, there is really NO effort put in) and you walk around shooting random terroists (looks like Taliban) who simply run out of buildings like they've seen a ghost and barely turn around to shoot you, even if you shoot them in the back. Dismemberments are lame, you shoot a guy in the head and the head just vanishes (doesn't blow up or fall off) and you get a blood spurt from the stump and thats it. Even the controls dont feel right. Anyone played the PC version of Turok 2? Thats how it feels, like it was made for a console then hurredly ported to PC. It just doesnt feel right in the controls department.
