Hi Guys

Why in gods name does it take forever for Blu Ray Movies to get to Australia compared to America?
For example- Cars, Ratatoullie, SuperBad,
If you go to amazon and see Blu Rays available you will see my point!
Its frustrating

Yeah, they have a slighty bigger population in the US than we do , so they get a lot more releases than us and usually before we do. i love blu-ray but having them region locked is so annoying at least with HD dvd they are region free.

It has nothing to do with population. In some cased, a film is distributed by a different company overseas and that's generally the issue when getting it out in other places. It's not that we're behind or anything, but that's just the way it is. The US often get stuff after as well.

Ain't region coding great! Wasn't a problem for HD-DVD, even blu-ray exclusives appeared on HD-DVD in Europe because of differing licensing agreements.

Just wait till blu-ray finally (if ever) become the 100% percent undisputed HD media. No region free players this time around guys, sony has bribed/invested to much money into this war. With their Orwellian bd+ drm and many other yet to be announced nasties expect the HD media rape to only intensify in its brutality and unfairness thanks to the major studios expecting blu-ray to usher in a new golden age of profits where the consumer is once again firmly under their thumb.

Thanks man. I realised that 300 BD from Amazon.com is region-free!!

What I don't get is, there are some titles it lists that works on Region B players ... even though Amazon.com says the BD is Region 1 ...
