Rumor is that at Sony's Leipzig Press Conference a part of it will be devoted to the “next generation of EyeToy" the Eye Toy 2.

However will Sony's Press Conference reveal the Eye Toy 2 and will it take advantage of the Playstation 3 like the original Eye Toy took with the Playstation 2.

And is this something you actually want from Sony?

Seeing as the actual successor to the EyeToy peripheral - the PlayStation Eye - is already out, we'll presume they're talking about a next-gen sequel to EyeToy Play, the game that came bundled with the original PS2 camera. We'll also presume it'll be taking advantage of all those neat features we've been shown over the past few months. And be subsequently excited. But remember, until David Reeves takes to that stage later today, this is rumour, not fact.
