Is the MGS4 limited? Absolutely. Not many will end in Australia though. If I was to take a guess and based on the PSP limited edition, then I would say 100,000 units. Remember the US and Japan are the biggest markets and buyiny one in Japan would not be much higher than a standard PS3 plus the game.

Becuase we need to import it and don't get first priority then we pay a premium.

To import the Japanese edition is $A833. Includes the limited edition version of the game.

About $80 more than buying in Oz for the standard PS3 plus the limited edition game.

So who is ordering the MGS4 PS3?

I would. If I could find the US one for sale...

I'd also consider the Japanese one - but if the game is all in Japanese it isn't going to be much use.

Gamestop is actually EB games in the US (look at www.ebgames.com I think the name only changed a few years ago.

It'd be unfair that Gamestop got it AND the LE of the game. That is pretty unfair to other retailers.

I really really wish the Japanese version had English support - I'd just buy that one in a heartbeat.

Maybe I should just bide my time and wait for a RE5 version of the console in 2009...

Sorry, only konamistyle sold the limited edition console in Japan (www.konamistyle.net). It was not made available to other retail outlets. Gamestop have the exclusive rights for the US market in very limited numbers. No announcement has been made regarding EU getting their own limited release of the console so I don't like the chances of Australia getting it either. If we do, then expect it to be an EB exclusive in even smaller numbers than the rest of the world.

If you haven't already found out...

The Konami.com (US site) is offering the US/Canada to pre-order the MGS4 "Gun Metal Gray" highly limited edition PS3 right now! (started 19/05/08). NOTE: it's 40gb with NO Backwards Compatibility! Comes with DS3.

This exclusive is available to US/Canada consumers only and they will not export. So, if you have some contacts in the US who could purchase it, then you may be in luck!?!

The PS3 LE also come with the LE version of MGS4. Although, this PS3 will mostly play US region BD movies and the bonus BD in the MGS4 pack may be region locked aswell??

Konami is offering it for US$599, which is US$100 more than the 80gb PS3 bundle they also will get (with BC)but no DS3!!

PS. The Japanese version will play all PS3, though will only play PAL region games via HDMI. Otherwise, it should be ok!?

I'm hoping that we'll get a chance to get that offer here aswell!! Fingers crossed.

Surf the net, you'll find heaps of pics of it. If you've seen an Iridium colored fridge at the shops, then it's sort of like it!?!

And one of the best chances of getting one is from Playasia.com

The US version will be hard to come by, unless you have contact (family, relatives, friends?) in the US who may have a chance of pre-ordering online from Konami.com
