Another 360 bashing thread...come on guys, some of you are just turning into real fanboys. Until the PS3 software starts flying off shelves like 360 software has over the past 2 years, get over this whole "PS3 vs. 360" thing skua and a few others have got going. 360 might not have hardware reliability, but it has software reliability. If you happen to be in the 80+% whose console doesn't mulfunction, you've got a fantastic console with awesome online and a brilliant library. It's not very often that a large gaming library = quality, but the 360 has an impressive good:bad game quality ratio (based on critical consensus). The PS3 is the same, but it doesn't quite have as many titles yet.

Thats a classic quote Gaetano, you do realise when the hardware breaks down the software is useless.
No one should accept a 20% chance their hardware will fail. Granted theres a 3 year warranty but a company shouldnt be allowed to sell a console with such high failure rates.

Granted. I hate the fact that MS hardware sucks donkey ****. But you have to admit, there are plenty of hardcore gamers out there (and I sincerely believe the 360 has a bigger hardcore gaming community then the PS3 because of Live and games like Halo) who buy the console and are willing to risk the hardware mulfunctioning because the library is so good. And it really is. That's what I was getting at. My console has died twice and it's very frustrating, so much so that I might not look into buying another XBOX console after this generation. But I think fanboys are using the unreliability of the hardware as a picking point because the core aspect of a consoles success, the gaming library, is (atm) stronger then the PS3's. Yet, the PS3's main faults (lesser focus on online play/PSN, development issues) are never mentioned, not even on My360. It's as if some of you have some personal vendetta against it.

the xbox is fantastic. but it isn't reliable at-all. i remember this guy (from here) said he hasnt had his xbox RRoD once.. couple hours later he posts here saying it bloody RRoD'd.
i dislike halo, i never liked them. but GoW and bioshock are excellent (although on pc as well). Microsoft is well.. not the best company. they make trillions, but you'll see from their demonstration videos that even infront of a LIVE audience their software begins to fail on them.
and i love microsoft over Mac (cuz i'm a gamer), but their not the most reliable company. which is proven with xbox 360, vista (due to its uselessnes and issues on live demonstrations) and this other piece of software which i forgot what it was.
I think the xbox 360 has a great game library, great online. but its lacking in the reliability & capabilities department. its had an excellent few years, but i think with these huge titles coming out the ps3 will rule the years to come.

Pretty much sums it up. Microsoft have the ideas but it doesn't have the emphasis on reliability that a Japanese company like Sony or Nintendo have. It really does come down (in a certain degree) to the culture and standards of the country as well. Microsoft know how to make brilliant games. It's the execution (hardware) that ultimately lets them down. Where was the revamped and smaller XBOX1 towards the end of its life? What about a new 3

I take your word for it that the games library is really good as Ive only had a few experiences with a xbox 360 at my mates place but my only point was if your hardware isnt reliable then you shouldnt be allowed to sell it. Imagine if 20% of all Ford Falcons Or Holden Commodores were breaking down, they be forced to recall them all & make sure the faults are fixed with the car model or reimburse everyone that bought them. Why is it acceptable for a console to have such high failure rates ?
I can understand people wanting a xbox 360 because of the game library but the first thing I consider when buying a console is the actual console & its reliability not its games as theres only a small amount of games that wont be available on both platforms. When I say small I mean like anywhere from 10 to 20%. Im not sure of the actual figures but for me, exclusive games aint a issue.

just imagin how much better the xbox 360 would be minus RRoDs and other issues.
i mean there would be no bashing it due to RRoDs and what not.
i mean in all honesty, i prolly would own a 360 now if it wasn't so unreliable. i do know people have had their xbox without any problems but i'm not the luckiest guy in the world. with my luck it'll break the day i buy it.
but if i did purchase a 360 then i wouldnt be able to experience these 2008-2009 ps3 titles.. so i'd prolly have to buy em all

I know theres heaps of people who would disagree with me but one of the reasons Ive stayed away from the xbox 360 is also because of the controller, I just dont like the way it feels in my hands but that could also be because Im so used to the SONY controllers. I could proberly get used to it after awhile but with the reliability issues also I decided I stick with what I know.
