According to Activision, Call of Duty 4 is “leading the way” in first-person shooting games, with Vegas and Army of Two “failing to inspire”.

Speaking to trade mag MCV, Activision marketing director David Tyler stated that, “(we’re) pleased to have Call of Duty 4 leading the way in the FPS genre, with recent launches such as Army of Two and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 failing to inspire."

"Call of Duty 4 has been a phenomenal success for us and reflects Activision's commitment to creating truly ground-breaking games.

"One of the things we've seen is that people outside of what you'd consider 'normal' gamers, are actually getting into this a lot, including quite a number of celebrities."
