We just had a customer come in and told me he got the same Disk Read error that many others seem to be having. This one isn't related to COD4, he hasn't played that, last game he played was Uncharted. No warning, just suddenly stopped reading any disks... cd's, dvd's, games, blu rays etc.
Sadly for him it's 3 weeks out of warranty now as he bought it at launch. I suggested he goes and gets onto Sony and raises a bit of a storm.. for a $1000 console to die three weeks out of warranty is not on.
What's more worrying is this seems to becoming a bit more common, is this going to plague the PS3 like the RRoD has plagued the 360?
