i do work by contract for a point of sale merchandising (think shelves, displays, signage, that type of thing) company. I get paid an average of $50/hour.

So far I've completed work for Jack Daniels, Coke, Harvey Norman (that has been shown to Gerry Harvey himself), Dick Smith Electronics, IGA (if you see string bags appear at IGA soon, I designed them), Caltex, some supermarkets in China, Gaviscon and others I can't remember.

Since it's my birthday soon I'm using my last paycheck (around 600 bucks) to treat myself to a 21 day long birthday

. I've been sick for 3 years so I figured I deserved it.

Good luck!! My wife's been doing that for the last 7 years, it never get's any easier!! Publishing companies try and screw you into the ground on everything from copyright to fees!

Just keep at it... no matter how much self-doubting you go through because of things that happens, keep going!

And one small tip.. ALWAYS ask for an upfront fee because those bastards will take for ever to pay!
