does it actually decode audio via hdmi? it does say '8 ch Multi Channel Linear PCM' but then it says 'HDMI Repeater' - dont know if that means the same as HDMI switching. It doesnt mention what version it runs either.

thanks for getting back to me, i didn't go to HN yet. I have found another HTIB and its SAMSUNG DVD Home Theatre System - HT-TX500T

this one looks like its better than the Samsung HT-TXQ120. however cnet dosen't rate it as high. this is the newer model (HT-TX500T)

the only thing i can tell is that it dosen't have HDMI input. my tv has 2 HDMI's one being used by the PS3, do i need to have HDMI input on the speakers or just plug them into tv? will the ps3 be able to use them?

Totall agree man. HTIB is pretty much clamping you down to mediocrity IMO. Even if you only had 1000 bucks to spend i recommend you save up more money or just buy 2 speakers and save up for the surrounds later.

whats worse than weakness is the db peaks that they engineer in to make it sound like its got punch - like their 'subs' have a massive peak around 100hz and treble.... like they have the loudness option turned on permanently
