Hey guys,
Im a noob when it comes to anything regarding remote play and media servers for PS3. Just curious, those features I presume are run through the internet arent they? so that means that if i streamed a 5mb movie from my ps3 to my psp would that be using my internet bandwidth of 5mb?

No your streaming the video via your private network (from the ps3 to the router then to the psp) so it wont use any of your internet bandwidth.

only if your in range of your PS3. You "can" send it over the internet to your PSP but that is main uploading so unless your ISP counts uploads then you will still be fine.

Im pretty sure maccas wifi aint free, from I have read, you need a bigpond wireless account to access it, but I could be wrong.

or you can pay for it via your credit card, but yeh its not free

Can anyone suggest a good Media Server program, so i can stream my stuff from PC to PS3?
EDKILL: TVersity is what I use, and has been working brilliantly 
Kjt: if you are using maccas internet, then I'm assuming you setup your PS3 at home to Remote Play/ strean over the net. If that's the case, you will be using maccas to download, but your PS3 at home will still be uploading (so you are using your home inet as well).

I also use TVersity and it works great. Easy to link your existing folders to, especally if you use itunes instead of Windows Media Player.
