If Snake had died, that would've really been a groundbreaking moment for MGS and videogames in general, but I really think the character deserves rest after all that he's been through.

I agree. But as I said, I was almost in tears when he "died". If he really did, that would have been insane!! But yeah, he really did deserve a happy ending...

Heh, yeah, I was about to mention that. It's not the happiest ending since he's still affected by the rapid aging process, and doesn't have long to live. I felt there was closure. The most important thing is closure. Maybe if you play through MGS3, you might enjoy the ending more.
If you don't have MGS3, you could borrow mine....somehow. My copy is ****. I bought it off ebay a while ago, and it was scratched to high hell. Wasn't too happy. But I guess it's better than not being able to play it at all.

I must admit that ending brought me to tears (seriously...) at about the same time otacon started crying in front Sunny, and also when Big Boss died... It was very epic.
