Mate, I have to agree with a lot of the guys here - don't do it. Unless you can afford a 'true' sports car, you're just spending money on a run-of-the-mill vehicle. There are guys and girls out there who are given the exotic cars as b'day presents, and you'll forever be trying to make your car as nice as theirs. (keeping up with the Jones') I have mates like that. I unfortunately am not like that.
fix up the engine you have, clean up the interior/exterior, but don't make a normal car a 'show' car. You'll never be wealthy doing that....

no i didn't do my brakes back then.. there isn't much difference between TT and NA brakes. there isnt a whole lot of difference on the TT and NA zx's besides hicas and a few little other things

You will never be 'wealthy' doing anything to a car. You do it because you love it and it is fun, not because you want to make $$ back out of it or actually care about the money you pour into your car. Im only 21 and have spent about 30-50k on my car including buying it. I could have bought a house but i have a whole lifetime to buy a house, im still young and want to have fun so that's where my money is going.

But you admit there is a difference. And we are talking brakes.
So you go from naturally aspirated running gear, upgrade the engine to a MUCH higher output and nothing else.
You my friend are what gives car modifiers a bad name. Safety is paramount - no compromise.......
Its fine to want to go fast - but you have to stop just as well too.

Good point, most engineers wont let you pass if you add that much power and leave the brakes standard.
Topher you are making it sound a lot easier than it actually is. most backyard engine jobs will never go to plan, including doubling the budget.
