nat1 and 2 are fine but 3 makes it lag. its usually because the connection runs through a router that has not been configured right for gaming.

im no computer nerd when it comes to this stuff but i managed to change mine to nat 2 from 3 (a bit of a fluke). i changed mine by enabling dmz in the port forwarding tab in my modem/router settings.

you can also ring up the internet company that supplied the router for u, they should no something (well mabey not telstra).

and by the way, now playing resistance online and i can actually use the shotgun properly. makes a big difference especially on the world server.

Just ran an internet connection test on the PS3 and I came up with Nat 3. I have been playing Resistance and been able to chat and play online with no lag. However, I have now enabled DMZ as you mentioned and I now have Nat 2. Apparently Nat 3 limits a few things so it might be a good idea to run a check people.

Default Router (Got this from my router settings)
Primary DNS (I got some info on DNS Numbers from my ISP)

When I enter all the info in, then go test, I still get Nat 3. Do I need a Static IP rather then a Dynamic? I am with Iprimus and they do not do Static IP for Residential only Business's

you what you need to do is set up portforwarding in your router or set up a DMZ to find out how to do this look up your router at www.belkin.com/

the ports you need to forward are listed in the link at the top of this thread, or if you use the DMZ(if you have one) it will forward EVERY port to the ip adress that you specify (your ps3's IP adress) and it is the most fool proof way of doing this but not all routers have a DMZ opption

Going by the manual it seems I do have DMZ. So I looked up my PS3 IP address in system information on the PS3 and then entered the last digits into the DMZ on my Computer (Was only 1 digit as it already had 192.168.2) Once I done this I clicked Enable and clicked apply changes. Tested internet connection on PS3 but I still get Nat 3. I setup the PS3 with Auto settings, I am using a WEP security code in case someone is trying to get into my wireless connection. I have UPNP active and my PS3 has it available.

Anyone see where I am going wrong?

i dont know why it isnt working try rebooting your router(save your seting first so you dont lose any) and it might fix the problem. also just try aplying the DMZ again routers can be a bit fidely some times and the dont always do what you want them to
