Hey every one just signed up. Atm im a bit envious as i have to go put a ps3 on layby so i wont be able to own one for another month or so but anyway i was just wondering to connect a ps3 to the net is it just plugged strait into a modem?

You need to connect it to an ethernet port of some sort so a broadband router should do the trick, but you might need a pc to tweak the modem settings so it assigns dhcp to the ps3 etc.

Anywho, as Snickers said, just connect it via an ethernet cable to a broadband enabled router or modem and you'll be right. Or even easier, use the built in wireless to access a wireless router if you have one 
Thats what I do and its alot better cos... no wires!

Yes, just get an ethernet cable from the PS3 and connect it to the modem.

k i used to have a 360 but i wasnt going to pay over $100 to connect it to the net and iv got a wii wich seems to only connect by wireless
You can connect the PS3 both wired or wireless

yeh you have to buy a separate adaptor to use wired internet with the Wii.
Oh and welcome to the site. I recommend you pick put uncharted: drake’s fortune and Ratchet and clank when you get your PS Triple.

I wouldn't know personally. But there are a number of comparisons. In general, its probably pretty much the same. But if you are really picky, one might have slighty better frame rate or graphics.

In relation to COD its pretty much the same, the only time you'll notice a difference is with HDMI on a pimpin TV.
Only thing I'm not sure is if COD is a cross platform game (GH3 wasn't 
)
So maybe double check that if you want to vs your bro.
