Social \ NTSC game on PAL

im aware that ps3 consoles are region free. what im unsure about is whether a NTSC game would work on PAL TV [specifically Virtua Tennis 3]. Im not sure because i dont own one but my mate does. His got a sony bravia HDTV. To get it to work properly would he need to change any settings on his TV or should it automatically adjust for the NTSC standard? Thanks.

Basically its a HDTV question...

If you have a HD tv. Then it will all be fine. but if you have an older CRT TV there can be issues with displaying NTSC games on them.

as all the HD resolutions are world wide standards (720p, 1080i/p)

the SD are both different pal uses 576 and NTSC uses 480 for its SD content.
