Playstation 3 Software & Firmware \ Game recommendations

Right-o guys, seeing as i'm planning on purchasing a PS3 in the forseeable future, within the next 30 days hopefully

(A shiny silver one from Play-asia actually and buying a DS3 with it)

Anyway, i've got a few games i want to get but after recommendations as to what to get before others or list others that may grab my interest or worth checking out.

I'll be getting GT5 Prologue first, as thats a given being a GT fanboy and all (only missing GT4 Prologue from my collection at the moment lol)

Others i'll be after are:
Burnout Paradise
Motorstorm
GTA IV (though thats a given really lol)
DMC4 (never really place a DMC game before but seeing the review of it on Good Game convinced me to get it.

Imma fan of the Tekken series as well so that may be on the cards

other than that i'm mostly a racer, don't mind the odd action or adventure game.

After GT5P i'll probably get Burnout Paradise or GTAIV (or both at the same time) after that i'm not sure, probably Orange Box (if but for Portal

)

Any recommendations would be good or even what i should get first (after GT5P that isas i'll get that when i get the ps3)

Also in regards to DVD playback, as i'll be getting a jp console, would that just be locked to japan's region or would it be like blu-ray in that it'd be japan and US or not? not that its really an issue

You're a racing fan i gathered so maybe Ridge Racer 7 is another racing game you can consider. Tekken 6 is looking absolutely amazing, definitely put that on your must buy list. The games you have mentioned are all damn good, Burnout Paradise and MotorStorm are top class racers. Other games i would consider you perhaps hiring first would be Heavenly Sword, Resistance Fall of Man and Assassins Creed. and definitely consider Uncharted Drakes Fortune as a must buy, that game is incredible. As for the Japanese console being locked to its region only, that i am not too sure about sorry.

You should have, it's worthwhile. Couldn't stop playing it in the afternoon. Hehe. It was rather cheap too, considering it's rather new.

Never been a fan of MGS games myself, though may give it a rent.

Not much of an FPS person really, so i'm not much competition but i'll probably give Portal a run through and TF2 a run as well. PC is a bit long in the tooth so PS3 seems better option

Yeah GT5 is going to rock, i can't wait for it to come out, the only games in the series i didn't get 100% completion (not including the 350z, micra etc. editions) was 3 (because it's impossible all races complete and it only goes to 98.7% or something like that... grrr) and GT4.. which i should fire up again to tide me over. Im a Gran Turismo addict... lol.
