Last week came news that Vivendi Games’ Ghostbuster video-game adaption had been taken off Activision’s release list after the publisher gave it the ax.
Good news now, however, for those kids-of-the-80s, with reports from Variety’s Cut-Scene Blog that Sony Pictures is trying to work something out with Activision-Blizzard so as to get the game out sometime in 2009.
"This has presented (Sony Pictures Consumer Products) with an opportunity to re-evaluate the game release marketing strategy to potentially coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original film in '09," the company said in a statement.
While there has been no official announcement as to a possible 2009 release, considering the hype and strong marketing direction already gone into the game, it would be ludicrous for a gaming publisher to not even consider picking this future-gem up.
