Playstation 3 Software & Firmware \ Assassins creed. Stuck in fortress

Hi all you young expert gameplayers. Hope you can help an oldie like me. I got a Playstion3 as part of a Sony Bravia deal and couldn't get down to the shops fast enough to buy Assassins Creed (my first ever game!)
I'm stuck in limbo in the part where the Master sends the guy out to look for the traitor within the fortress. I keep on going round in circles and always end up at the main gate. What's the secret of getting out or finding the traitor?

Assasins creed is a good game, but I just found the repetitiveness of it annoying. Awesome graphics and such but just to samey.

I'm assuming this is from Memory block 2 - The Masyaf Traitor? Basically you need to go to the market sit on a bench and eavesdrop on a conversation then you'll get a pickpocketing task and then interogation task. Any more questions and you can check out the walkthrough on the link below

Thanks GT for your quick reply. Yes I got to the stage once where I punched a pickpocket. Just wondered how long you had to sit on those benches. Looks like I haven't been sitting long enough to hear one. Will give it a try. Oh, correction. This morning I got a 'command to go don and see some guy 'at the cypress tree'. I couldn't identify any single tree as there were quite a few cypress.
I think I saw 'Drake's Fortune Uncharted playing in some shop. Must get hold of it.

PS Have just looked at Drake's Fortune but it is a modern story. The game I saw in some shop showed ships and soldiers of the real Drake's time and wondered if you know which one it was. The scenery in it appeared to be maybe somewhere in the Caribbean and showed the crew stacking all sorts of stores up on a quay.

If your still stuck on the listening in part all you have to do is sit on the nearest bench and press triangle (not sure because i have on xbox 360 so it was Y for me).
