Guys, I'm looking at getting a steering wheel.

However, do they actually work well for someone just playing on the carpet/couch?
That is do they work well when you don't have a table to fasten the wheel to?

Its a pain in the a$$ because now I got to sell my MOMO wheel which I really like & paid about $250 for about 3 years ago (so ive got some good use out of it but dont use the PC for gaming now so its not being used) & ill be lucky to get $50 for it on ebay, they sell for new now for $100 & go & buy a G25 for $300 because I want a wheel that feels good in my hands. The other logitech wheels dont compare to the G25, but seeing as I have so many driving games I suppose it will be worth it.

It's expensive to get shipped to AUS but I can't justify buying a full racing chair setup. I also need something I can fold up and put in the cupboard.

I've looked at the design and think it would wobble around side to side. You would be better off modifying a cheap chair to suit your wheel. I've done this before with a couple of different wheels with great sucess. The wheel can be mounted on a removable table that simply pins to the arms of your chair, and the pedals are usually carpet friendly so all you need is some carpet from your chair to your pedals. Don't spend $300 on something that probably wont be adequate or stable. Make it yourself!

Well dont you think that if it had no weight behind or under the pedals that it would fall??

You dont have to go all technical... i was just stating my theory which i thought waS pretty logical and was in agreement/answering Kazuma's Post
