Playstation 3 Hardware \ PS3 Setup

I finally bought a PS3 yesterday for myself and just wanted to ask about the setup. The setup itself was easy, the HDMI was detected straight away and the 1080i was automatically set. GT5 looked farkin awesome. The problem I have is that when I fired the PS3 up this morning it told me "HDMI detected" and went through a couple of settings again. Does this do it every time I switch on?

It shouldnt do that everytime you start up the PS3, well mine doesnt unless I change it back to av cords when I take it to work. When you turned it off last night did you turn it off via the controller or by the button at the front. If you hold the buttona t the front down until it beeps a couple times it actually resets the PS3 to detect hdmi or av etc again.

yeh, if you hold the button down on the front of the PS3 until you hear a second beep it resets some of the settings. (its used as a safety so you can reset your ps3 to display on an older tv if you cant get the display working.)

so just press it once and let go of the button and it wont do it again.
