Last week I purchased a GT5:P PS3 Bundle. The game itself was a great introduction to the PS3 as far as the graphics were concerned. I’ve never really been that bothered with the game so I decided to purchase PES 2008. I am a massive PES fan, FACT. This has got to be the worst version I have played on any console. Having seen the graphics on GT5 to then look at this pile of sh*t is staggering. The game itself is slow and jerky. Graphically it seems no better than the PS2 version.
I need a decent sports game to cheer myself up. Is there anything out there that at least uses some of the PS3 capability?

Did you download the update for PES 2008? It's okay... But it's absolutely horrid online... FIFA 08 won this round...

If you are a football fan wait till next Thursday and get yourself a copy of EURO 2008 or even FIFA 08...much better than PES in every aspect, IMO 
And there are plenty of us online to play against too

I was a massive fan of the master league. The game just seemed so fast on the PS2. How can the PS3 be so slow and jerky? As for the Mark Lawerenson commentary, what a joke. I did borrow Fifa off a mate and it is faster but has no master league.

It has Manager mode aswell as "Be a Pro" mode along with achievements galore and FIFA lounge which all add to the depth of gameplay..

No idea about car games...NHL08 is an awesome game also!! You really need to just play a few and see how you like them as everyone is different

F1 is amazing, but its recommended by myself mainly to F1/Racing enthusiasts. Great graphics, car mechanics are excellent and the online racing is alot of fun. FIFA08 slapped PES08 in the face with a dirty pair of under chunders this year, and everyone knows it. I believe this fashion will continue in the coming years too!! FIFA FTW!!! U gotta try MLB08, Uncharted, Burnout:Paradise City, plus many many more

hey mate im in the same boat as you.. i have been a winning eleven fan since ps1 days and ahvent touched fifa since probably the megadrive or the early ps1 games.
FIFA 08 clearly kills PES no matter how much it hurts to say it. ill give pes a try again with the next game but if its no good ill stick to fifa

If your into F1/car racing then grab it, awesome game, should be able to get it for around $50 at Big W, Target, KMart when they have sales, EB will try & rip you off & sell it for $100, JB might also have it cheap.
Other car games - You can get MotorStorm cheap now but there will be the new MotorStorm out soon so maybe wait for that, Burnout Paradise is good if you like some crash & bash racing, & lastly if you like motocross/fmx then MX vs ATV - Untamed.

does everyone get the staggered intros and replays from pes08? i though it would run alot smoother on the ps3. I am a bit disappointed with the graphics and replays and into sceens. game play is good though.

Worst game of the series, both PES and Fifa series.
You want a real football game, wait until Thursday, then you will get a taste of where things are heading.
