You can use TVersity or Winbdows Media Player 11, WMP11 will mostly likely already be installed on your PC if you have vista, all you have to do is setup sharing options on your pc then search for the media server on your ps3. You can also search myps3 for threads already on this topic.

TVersity is a very simple media server & I would recommend it if you have any issues with WMP11.

Im not sure as I havent encountered any problems myself but some people have said they couldnt get the PS3 to find the media server but when they use TVersity it would. I have vista so WMP11 was already installed & all I had to do was turn media sharing on & let it know where my files where that I wanted to share. The only real issue ive had is that WMP11 might not play some files but once I installed the codecs that come with TVersity thats no longer a issue, I actually have both media servers so if one plays up I use the other.
