Not really, I think it just made it more accessible to people who are new to 'stealth' games.
I think it still remained true to the fans, and added something for everyone else.
MGS2 along with MGS4 are my favourites. I thought Kojima's why of portraying Snake from a third person was excellent, as well as the fact that it introduced Raiden, who was pretty ****ing awesome in Guns of The Patriots.

Did anybody else think that Kojima was forcing those who disliked Raiden in MGS2 to love him in MGS4? I liked Raiden, but damn you think he's about to die so many times it must've made anti-Raiden people feel appreciative for the character at least once. I cried man-tears when Raiden stopped Outer Haven from crushing Snake. ;~;

You must be pretty hopeless at games if you don't know what your doing in such a linear game.

i didnt really like mgs games....
Especially number 4 which was less of a game more of a movie which presented me with a bunch of useless gadgets and allowed me to shoot everything.
mgs1 was the "best" or the one that sucked the least.
mgs4 did the one mortal video game sin that assassins creed nearly did by shoving a load of bs onto my screen while i was waiting to get into some action.

No the game was made wrong. Splinter cell seemed much better at being a stealth shooter and forced people to not play it as an fps.

Personally, I loved the splinter cell games. I think they require alot more skill and patience.
The sad thing is, the best Splinter Cell, was Double Agent. They included a story, the game has some of the BEST levels to date. Just sucks that conviction is taking an entirely different turn after Double Agent was really great.

I love this guy, so arrogant. Because he fails at something, or simply doesn't like it, he deems it to be 'terrible'.

Splinter Cell doesn't suck, it's just not as "amazing" as it was when it was first released.
