Red Faction: Guerrilla is a 3rd person, open-world action shooter set on Mars, 50 years after the events of the original Red Faction. Players take the role of an insurgent fighter with the newly re-established Red Faction movement as they battle for liberation from the oppressive Earth Defense Force. Throughout their fight for freedom, players carve their own path, wreaking havoc across the vast, open-world environment of Mars, from the desolate mining outpost of Parker to the gleaming EDF capital city of Eos.

Utilizing improvised weapons, explosives and re-purposed mining equipment and vehicles, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to tear through fully destructible environments in an unforgiving Martian landscape swarming with EDF forces, Red Faction resistance fighters, and the downtrodden settlers caught in the cross-fire. Red Faction: Guerrilla also features a robust multiplayer component, including several modes focused on destruction-based gameplay.

I don't get that excited about destructible encironments. If that's their marketing point, it's a little weak. The "open environments" and the game changing to 3rd person sounds really interesting. can't wait.

I'm definately keeping an eye out for this one, I loved RF! Don't think I played the second one (from what I hear it wasn't worth playing).

I really do love destructible environments, I would absolutely love to see someone make a game all about destructibility, like a demolision simulator??? They could call it "When Buildings Fall Down" (for all the Simpsons geeks out there)

I can't wait for this game, many hours spent playing the first two.

Multiplayer was awsome, with 4 split screen available with Red Faction 2.

Looks good, I love destructible environments, I remember the old Red Faction 2 on PS2, l loved the multiplayer because of the many destructible walls, will this bring the same amount of fun? Find out later this year! Yay!

yep totally agree there mate, and from what iv heard the destructable environment is all they have to play with, they shoulda spent more time on gameplay and playability

i always got the title of this mixed up with Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2.. I dont know why, but when they were just working titles like.. 2 years ago, I got them all mixed up i fail.. but I cant wait for this, the feeling when i first play this and get to escape from vault 101, and then explore the plains of Africa and shoot all the mutants on my hang glider.. oh wait

What could be better than taking out the main support points of a huge bridge or tower just enough to weaken it critically, hearing the metal start to creak under stress, then see it all come crashing down in a beautiful destruction sequence. Wow wow wee wow.

wow i havnt played this game (or any of the series) but reading that description it sounds a LOT like the Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. Recommend those books to anyone they are truly amazing. might check this game out now. Oh who am I kidding im picking up modern warfare in 3.5 hours...
