PS3 News \ Gran Turismo 5 in 2010 or beyond!??!

In an interview with IGN, Kazunori Tamauchi has stated that GT5 is still a fair way off.

While GT5 Prologue has fed our GT cravings (somewhat), there’s no doubt that people are starting to get a little cranky at how long it’s taking GT5 to hit the PS3.

During an E3 interview, Yamauchi said that, "There's no plans in the works for GT5 yet - that might be 2009, or it might be 2010... But we're totally focused on getting the updates through for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and that's all we're focused on."

2010?!?! That’s a long way off, and considering how the game doesn’t even seem to be on his radar makes us think it might be even longer then that.

For those who aren't up to date with GT there is a much publicised Spring update that will bring weather and damage to GT.

There is also definately a playable nurburgring build in existence and the game producer has promised track and car updates for GT5P. One would almost certainly expect at least 1 new track in the spring update.

f---ing appalling by my standards, the promise of this game mustve been a pretty big hardware shifter, it was half the reason i upgraded to ps3...and now they say it wont be released until at least the 3rd if not 4th year of its lifespan...am i the only one who feels that is really poor? sure there is a heck of a lot of research and development required but i really dont think it is too much to expect it by the middle of the 3rd year at the latest....that gives them 3 years to put the game together, they must have been researching since the release of gt4 i wouldve thought...gahh so angry right now

as long as they expanded the single player challenges aswell, yeah id be stoked too

i hope if they do add cars & tracks its not all just gonna be for online. still, wasnt a nice way to wake up this morning....
