PS3 News \ Official PS3 Headset Details And US Pricing Unveiled
Sony has today unveiled some of the more intricate details of the new Playsation branded blue tooth head set that will be coming as both a standalone device and packed in with blu-ray versions of SOCOM: Confrontation.
The headset will come with a upright charging cradle (pictured above) and will also work with any blu tooth equipped mobile device. The set will feature an array of PS3 specific features that will come bundled with a future PS3 firmware update. These features include:
- High Quality (HQ) mode: When paired with the PS3 the head set will utilize advanced noise cancellation and other vocal technologies to provide a much clearer sounding communications. HQ mode will also allow for more accurate speech recognition software. such as SOCOM's voice animation feature which matches the speech coming from your headset to the moth movements of your in-game character.
- Display indicators: The PS3 will display an in-game status indicator exclusively for this headset that will show the headset’s connection status, battery charge level, speaker volume level and microphone mute status.
- Cradle charging: When the headset's batteries run low you can dock the set in its cradle to charge it up and whist in its cradle it will act as a desktop microphone so that you can still communicate even while it charges.
- USB pairing: The headset will be able to quickly and easy pair with the PS3 via a USB cable.
The set will cost $49.99 USD on its own and will come bundled with SOCOM: Confrontation for $59.99 USD. There is no word yet on an Australian date or pricing for the peripheral.

well its going to be $90~100 with SOCOM so id say that the head set it self will be about $70~80 AUD
which after you factor in VAT(Vaule Added Tax) isnt that bad.
