Sony's box of power, the Playstation 3 is now beating out the Nintendo Wii for the second week in a row in Japanese sales stats. Media Create released details showing that for the second time since the cheaper 40GB version of the PS3 hit shelves, it has beat down the Wii.
Hardware sales were down roughly 30% for the week but the PS3 has stayed in it's third place position with 39,178 units ahead of the Wii's 36,230 units.

Currently the Nintendo DS Lite is sitting in the number one hardware sales position.

We'll keep you informed as news comes as to whether this is a long term rise or just a short chain of PS3 impulse buying.
