News \ Bravia Bonus PS3 Offer

From 21 December to 28 January, if you purchase any 1080P Sony Bravia Television (the W, X, and XBR series) you will receive a free PS3 by mail in redemption.

Details are not up at the Sony site yet - just a placemark webpage stating " BRAVIA PS3 Promotion - Coming soon - Bonus PLAYSTATION®3 promotion.". But retailers have all been advised of it, and it has been advertised by some retailers already (Retravision in the Perth Sunday paper, the Bing Lee web site), and retailers I have directly spoken too (Videopro, JB, and Sony Clearance Centre) have all confirmed it.

Well, it is for all sizes of the 1080p models, just not the lower models. You should be able to get the lowest 1080P one (the 40W) for well under $2500 I think.

I have mine now, and have registered for my free PS3, just got to mail in the paper work.

The TV is nice. Same size as my old wega. Spent some time tuning it this morning. Picture is nice, no overscan, and NO CONVERGENCE OR LINEARITY ISSUES!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!

$3k for a 46" 1080P LCD is an awesome price. I was wanting to hold off buying a new TV for a couple of years, but my old one died.

It is for all 1080P Bravias, not just 46X.

You can get a 46" X for around $3500. Clive Anthony have them for $3600 ticketed price, and the 46W for $3040 ticketed.

It has been announced by Sony now, just nothing on the Sony site:

To my understanding, the deal is for a 46X inch Bravia TV, which normally retail for about $4000. The deal is TV + PS3 for $4500. Considering you can now pick the PS3 up for $600, its really only a saving of $100 bucks. So unlike the title suggests, its not really a "free" ps3
