News \ 10 days in and the Results are back...

Well it has been a while now and we have some news on what the effect of the Sony PlayStation3 has left in the Australian public after launch.

After ten days...




...27,083 PlayStation3's have been sold....



Seems like a big number, well, not really, the Nintendo Wii sold 33,000 in one day...

I know, but who would actualy pay $$$ for the games on the wii? I would actually pay $110 from EB for Halo 3 or $100 for Grand Turisimo 5... but $100 for games like Super Swing golf, and Wario Ware, and Elebits... good games but not worth $100. They are worth going down to the video shop renting for $6 and then making backups just in case you break the original **Cough**

Then most of the serious gamers (includes most myps3.com users from what I've seen) said "Stuff waiting" and had second thoughts on the wii so they didn't wait and went full hard out and bought a wii.
I think if Sony wants to be #1 they should cut the etended release crap and just pick the perfect date to release and jolly well release the dam thing. It is causing them to sell less models and make less money!

I think it's pretty unrealistic to even try to compare the wii with the PS3, what with the price difference the fact that the wii is severely inferior and shouldn't even be classed as 'next-gen' and the fact that the wii launched with far more avaliable units for sale than the PS3 and lastly the PS3 is not some FAD/NOVELTY, the playstation has been developed to be a seriouse piece of hardware to stand above the rest in almost every aspect. Pity about the lack of launch titles though, I really wanted oblivion and fear.

Well the wii sold more in 1 day because it is a third of the price of the ps3. People dont know if they should spend a grand on a console or not but when they find out how good it actually is, the ps3 will thrash 360 and wii in the sales.
