News \ 20GB and 60GB Discontinued in Japan.
In Japan the 20GB and 60GB Playstation 3 models were released in November 2006, followed by the 40GB model in November 2007. Now Sony has just announced that it has decided to discontinue the 20GB and 60GB models with the last batch being shipped off as on this month, Sony plans to focus their efforts in marketing the 40GB model as this model is notably cheaper to produce. After releasing various models and price variances and even though the 40GB model has fewer features than the upper spec versions it seems that this is the best direction for Sony to head if they want to have profitable financial year.

I was thinking about upgrading to a larger HD as well, but at this moment I haven't need the extra space, maybe later though.

Not true, Sony only put in a 40GB, because that is enough for save files and demos, if you want to put movies etc on there and don't have enough room, that is when you buy a bigger harddrive.
It's like the PSP, when you buy the PSP, it comes with a 32MB memory card, which is meant for savefiles, and if you want to put Music, Videos, Demos etc on there, then you buy a bigger memory card.
