News \ Rumor: Dead Rising 2 being made by Western Developer?
There have been plenty of rumors swirling around the video-game industry about a sequel to the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Dead Rising from Capcom. Some have indicated that DR 2 would be Playstation 3 exclusive which is strange considering the original was a 360 exclusive.
However, according to US magazine EGM, the sequel to probably one of the most unique and enjoyable titles of the last few years won’t be developed by the Capcom, the company that made the original as good as it was.
EGM claims that Dead Rising 2 is being handled by an unknown US developer based in Los Angeles. This is a far cry from the Capcom HQ in Japan where Keiji Inafune, of Mega Man fame, led the charge.
EGM also claims that, like every other game that is released at the moment, it will be released on Playstation 3 and XBOX 360.
While it isn’t very encouraging to see a franchise move from Japanese to Western development (imagine Resident Evil being Western developed!), the gameplay of the original Dead Rising mimicked the style of gameplay that is popular among Western gamers which probably suggests the reason why the game didn’t fly off shelves in Japan. The other reason might be because it was on the 360. Nonetheless, the move might be a blessing in disguise for the series. It might even see the end to the wacky save system from the first game.
While this latest claim is purely rumor, any Dead Rising 2 news is good news we say!

Are u kidding me? this game will be ruined if developed by a western developer! As far as i know this info is rubbish anyway, heres hoping there is a sequel but with Keiji Inafune in charge again
