THQ have recently announced during their Gamer's Day event that the sequel to 2006's free-roaming hit, Saints Row, entitled Saints Row 2, will be available from August 26th this year in the United States for both the XBOX 360 and the PlayStation 3.

Saints Row 2 will follow a storyline of a much more darker and gritter path than the first title in the series. In addition, many new features will be included such as the addition of several new vehicles including boats, monster trucks, motorbikes, helicopters and planes, as well as enhanced character customization as now both male and females are optional, and additional weather effects and much, much more...

As of now, an Australian release has not been announced but we expect it should be too much later...
